This is the second in our monthly series. Instead of guessing at the NI jobs market, we count what's actually live on NIjobsearch and tell you who's hiring, where, and in what kind of work. Every number below comes from our own listings on 5 October 2026. Jobs open and close every day, so treat the counts as a snapshot rather than a forecast. This month at a glance: 350 live jobs from 109 employers and recruiters. Just over half (185) are in Belfast. The rest are spread across 41 other towns and villages, from Larne and Dungannon to Cookstown and Enniskillen.
Where the Jobs Are
Belfast is still the biggest single market, but it isn't the whole story. These are the towns with the most live roles outside the city:

Larne and Dungannon again stand out for their size. Larne has a cluster of production and engineering roles: welders, CNC machinists, electricians and forklift drivers. Dungannon's biggest group is electrical engineering, from electrical fitters to a senior design engineer. If you have a trade and don't want to commute into Belfast, they're worth a look.
The Busiest Sectors
- Operations (80 jobs): still the biggest group. It covers delivery driving, warehouse work, logistics and site operations.
- Finance (46): accounts, payroll, finance business partnering and banking roles, mostly in Belfast and Newtownabbey.
- Sales (43) and customer service (41): retail management, trade counter, telesales and account management.
- IT (36): mostly Belfast-based, from support desks to cloud architecture.
- Manufacturing (20), hospitality (14) and healthcare (14) round out the top groups.
Compared with our September snapshot, the overall picture is similar: operations first, finance second, and Belfast taking just over half of everything. The totals are a little lower (350 against 364) because older listings closed and were replaced by new ones.

Royal Mail: delivery drivers across NI
Still the biggest single recruitment drive on the site. Angard Staffing, which recruits for Royal Mail, has 19 delivery driver roles open at delivery offices from Belfast and Derry~Londonderry to Strabane, Enniskillen, Armagh, Banbridge, Castlewellan, Lisburn, Newtownards and Donaghadee. Most list an indicative rate of £14–£16 an hour.

Deloitte has 5 Belfast roles, including bid advisers, a platform engineer and a Google Cloud architect. A&O Shearman also has 5, from a Salesforce product owner and a payroll specialist to a senior in-house lawyer specialising in AI and data privacy.

Randstad Inhouse Services has 13 roles, mostly production and engineering in Larne (welder/fabricator, electrician, CNC machinist) plus some in Belfast. First Military Recruitment has 6, mostly electrical roles around Dungannon. Salaries there range from £31,000 for an electrical fitter to a listed £70,000–£80,000 for an electrical engineering manager.

ASDA has 7 roles, from service colleagues to online and twilight managers, in Omagh, Ballyclare, Portadown, Belfast, Antrim and Ballymena. Zachary Daniels is recruiting for 8 retail management and sales roles in Belfast, with listed salaries from £25,000 to £38,000. Many NI jobs are advertised through agencies. The busiest this month are Brook Street (32 roles, mostly Belfast, from telesales and business support to a finance manager), Manpower (7, from Lisburn to Derry~Londonderry) and Randstad Inhouse Services (13, covered above). How to Use This
Look beyond Belfast. Nearly half of this month's jobs are outside the city, and competition is often lower. If you're flexible on location, the town pages above are the quickest way in.
