Finance Assistant

We are actively seeking a Finance Assistant to work for an award winning client based in Greater Belfast. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within this finance department and progress within your career.

 

Finance Assistant Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for various month end procedures including bank reconciliations, posting of accruals & prepayments and the allocation of costs across a number of cost centres.
You will provide key support to the accountants in the team carrying out cost analysis as required and assisting with the preparation of monthly reports.

 

Finance Assistant Key Responsibilities

Completion of month end ‘cut-off’ processes including bank reconciliations, calculation of accruals & prepayments,
preparation of month end accounting models and posting of journals for month end close to SAP
Key control account reconciliations,
Assist with cost variance analysis as required
Preparation of monthly reports and co-ordinating with other departments to ensure reporting deadlines are met,
Assist with the completion of monthly, quarterly and year end reporting packs as required,
Assistance in accounts payable/accounts receivable duties as required
Preparing statutory information returns and VAT returns
Assist with the preparation of year end statutory accounts and the provision of information/ analysis to auditors as required,
Other duties as required.

 

Finance Assistant Skills:

Intermediate MS excel skills with the ability to sort large volumes of data
Minimum 12 months experience working in a busy finance department
Must have GCSE Maths and English, Grades A*- C or equivalent
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Experience in working with others to achieve team goals

 

Salary will depend on experience and skill and will be from £18k – £20k per annum along with very attractive company benefits.
