Warehouse Operative

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, handling materials efficiently, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The role involves physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and load handling, and requires a proactive approach to stock management and order fulfilment.

Responsibilities

Efficiently handle materials, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and stock organisation.
Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and in accordance with training provided.
Manage shipping and receiving processes, including the loading and unloading of goods from lorries.
Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before dispatch.
Assist with stocking shelves, replenishing stock, and maintaining organised storage areas.
Perform mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
Support the overall organisation of the warehouse to optimise space utilisation and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse operations, including materials handling, picking & packing, and stock management.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and load/unload goods safely.
• Mechanical aptitude or knowledge is advantageous for equipment maintenance tasks.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Previous experience in shipping & receiving is preferred but not essential.
