Senior HR Business Partner

• Location: Belfast (Can be based in either Dublin, Belfast or Warrington; travel to all those locations as well as to sites across ROI, NI and UK (frequency as per business needs)
• Reporting to People Director
• Job Type: Full-time
• £65,5 - 80k salary band (DOE) plus £7k car allowance
• Hybrid working: 3 days office or site, 2 days remote working per week (flexibility needed as per business needs)

An international construction and engineering group is looking for a strategic and experienced Senior HR Business Partner to provide high-level HR support and drive people initiatives that align with their business objectives. This role involves regular travel across their offices in Dublin, Belfast, and Warrington, and to various project sites.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Strategic HR Partnership:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies in partnership with business leaders to support organisational goals.
  • Provide expert advice on workforce planning, talent management, and organisational development.
  • Support change management initiatives and act as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations and performance management issues.
• Employee Relations and Performance Management:
  • Lead complex employee relations cases including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  • Coach managers on performance management, development plans, and career progression.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
• Talent Development and Engagement:
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development to identify skill gaps and support development initiatives.
  • Drive engagement strategies that support inclusion, wellbeing, and retention.
  • Facilitate talent review and workforce planning processes.
• HR Data, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement:
  • Provide workforce insights and HR analytics to support decision-making.
  • Monitor key HR metrics to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and systems to improve efficiency.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, managers, and cross-functional HR teams.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Participate in HR projects and organisational change programmes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
• CIPD qualification or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
• Proven experience in a similar role, with evidence of continued professional development.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and performance management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a role model for company values.
