<p><strong>REED</strong>&nbsp;are delighted to be assisting a Major NI Client with the Recruitment of a&nbsp;<strong>Group Buyer</strong>&nbsp;to join a growing and dynamic business based in their&nbsp;<strong>Castledawson</strong>&nbsp;site.</p> <p><strong>Group Buyer</strong></p> <p>Castledawson, Northern Ireland<br /><br />&#163;50,000 – &#163;55,000 (circa)</p> <p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>An exciting opportunity for an experienced Buyer to take full ownership of procurement within a growing, multi-service construction and FM business. This is a key hire, offering real influence to shape strategy, drive cost efficiency, and build a high-performing supply chain.</p> <p>This is a standalone role with strong visibility across the business—ideal for an established Buyer or a Senior QS/Estimator ready to step up.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Procurement &amp; Supply Chain Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and develop buying strategy across subcontractors, labour, materials and group spend</li><li>Audit and optimise current supply chain, reducing risk and improving commercial performance</li><li>Build and manage a structured approved supplier network</li></ul> <p><strong>Commercial Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Negotiate supplier agreements and group pricing frameworks</li><li>Implement robust subcontract and supply contracts (incl. CIS/IR35 compliance)</li><li>Drive cost savings, margin protection and value through supplier engagement</li></ul> <p><strong>Depot &amp; Materials Buying</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee buying across multiple depot locations</li><li>Standardise suppliers, pricing and stock frameworks</li><li>Monitor spend, demand trends and identify savings opportunities</li></ul> <p><strong>Governance &amp; Performance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Introduce clear procurement processes, controls and reporting</li><li>Track supplier performance and drive continuous improvement</li><li>Report on spend, savings and supply chain performance at senior level</li><li>Support tenders with commercially sound supply chain input</li></ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in buying/procurement within construction, M&amp;E or FM</li><li>Strong track record managing subcontractors and supplier relationships</li><li>Experience negotiating contracts and delivering measurable cost savings</li><li>Knowledge of CIS, IR35 and construction supply chain compliance</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and implement new processes</li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with depot/stores or multi-site buying</li><li>Familiarity with public sector frameworks or supplier platforms (e.g. Causeway, Achilles)</li><li>CIPS (or working towards)</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Apply?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Opportunity to&nbsp;<strong>build and lead a procurement function from the ground up</strong></li><li>High-impact role with genuine influence on business performance</li><li>Growing, ambitious organisation with long-term career potential</li></ul> <br />
