Interim Senior Accountant  (6–9 Month Fixed Term Contract) – Belfast

Location: Belfast
Salary: £70,000 per annum (pro rata)
Duration: 6–9 Months

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Financial Controller/Senior Accountant to join our client’s Belfast-based finance team on an urgent interim basis for a period of 6–9 months.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the business through a critical period of external audit activity and strategic finance projects. This is a hands-on position requiring a proactive professional who can quickly integrate into the organisation and deliver results from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Director throughout the annual audit process.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate responses to auditor queries.
• Deliver and support key finance transformation and business improvement projects.
• Oversee financial controls, reporting, and compliance activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team where required.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available to stakeholders.

Candidate Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
• Strong audit management and project delivery experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
• Immediately available or available at very short notice.
