Group Payroll Manager

• Location: North Belfast
• Contract: Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid working
• Salary: £32,367 - £41,116 per annum

Reed Recruitment is collaborating a prominent, highly regarded non-profit organisation based in North Belfast. They are currently seeking a Group Payroll Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful Group Payroll Manager will provide operational leadership for the payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees within the organisation. This role encompasses overall responsibility for payroll governance, controls, statutory compliance, payroll systems, reporting, and continuous improvement. 

Day-to-day of the role:

• Group Payroll Management:
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all payrolls.
  • Oversee payroll for multiple entities and manage various pay structures.
  • Conduct appropriate reconciliations and reviews before payment.
  • Manage payroll calendars and statutory submissions.
• Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain and update payroll policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate payroll-related audits.
• Payroll Systems & Processes:
  • Manage and optimise the payroll system and its interfaces.
  • Lead system upgrades and implementation projects.
  • Streamline processes to enhance efficiency.
• Financial Management & Reconciliation:
  • Ensure thorough reconciliation of payroll with the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with Finance to manage payroll-related financial tasks.
• Leadership & People Management/Training:
  • Lead and develop the payroll team.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Provide payroll reports and analyses to support decision-making.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum Level 4 Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Business Studies/Finance).
• At least 2 years of experience in a payroll function, managing end-to-end pay runs across multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, statutory payments, and pensions.
• Proven experience in payroll reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience managing payroll staff.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Note:This position requires a Standard Access NI check.
