Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract)

• Location: Mullaghbawn
• Job Type: Full-time, 12 Month Contract
• £45,000 - £50,000

Our client, with over 40 years of expertise in in the engineering sector, seeks to appoint a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to ensure the smooth operation of our accounts function during a period of planned leave.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare Group Management accounts and assist in the development and reporting of KPIs.
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly Board Report and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review bank and supplier reconciliations and prepare UK VAT/Payroll/sub-contractor/other statutory returns prior to submission.
• Prepare Annual Financial Statements and audit files for the annual financial audit.
• Develop annual budget and business plans and prepare Grant applications and claims.
• Enhance the company’s financial systems and processes.
• Mentor and develop other finance staff, ensuring all statutory surveys are submitted timely.
• Handle any other tasks as requested by the directors or line manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within engineering, construction, or related sectors.
• Strong track record in preparing management accounts and financial analysis.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams.
