Finance Manager/ Part Qualified Accountant

Reed Recruitment is delighted to be working with a charitable organisation, with offices based in Belfast. Our client has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. Offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work within a welcoming and supportive team, the successful applicant will be responsible for completing the following duties:

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations including sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in coding, recording, and timely payments and receipts.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor aged debtors while proactively managing credit control.
• Ensure compliance with the purchase order system
• Support the preparation of management information to aid operational decisions and prepare quarterly VAT Returns to ensure maximum VAT recovery.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and support during the financial audit.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Undertake ad-hoc projects and provide financial reporting and analysis as required

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in financial management and operations, preferably within a similar sector.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively support and develop finance staff.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, VAT issues, and financial reporting.
• Experience in managing payroll processes and compliance with HMRC and pension obligations.
• Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to adhere to and uphold the organisation's values and ethical standards

Essential Criteria:

• Part Qualified Accountant
• A minimum of 3 year’s practical experience of operating an accounting package to final Trial Balance and management accounts stage
• Experience of payroll processing or management.
• A high level of knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work flexibly, conscientiously and use own initiative to meet deadlines.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse financial information effectively.
• A full current driving licence and access to a car, or alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence

Hours of work

• Monday- Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm
