Reed Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Cook in Newry

Permanent Position

Hours: 36 hours per week (4 days per week)

 Pay Rate: £16.73 per hour

 Reports To: Home Manager

Role

• To prepare and serve high-quality meals and snacks while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Prepare and serve meals in line with menu and dietary requirements.
• Order stock and monitor food supplies.
• Supervise and support catering staff.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and HACCP compliance.
• Complete required health & safety and food hygiene records.
• Report equipment faults or hazards.
• Attend training and staff meetings as required.

Essential Criteria

• Catering qualification.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
• Satisfactory Access NI check.

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of IDDSI guidance and special dietary requirements.
