Airfreight Manager

About the Role

Location: County Antrim, onsite, with the role commutable from Ballymena, Antrim, Newtownabbey, Ballyclare, Ballynure, Crumlin, Carrickfergus, Larne, Lisburn, Belfast and surrounding areas.

What will you be doing?

• Taking ownership of the developing airfreight function, identifying opportunities to grow volumes, develop new business and strengthen existing customer relationships.
• Building effective processes and SOPs while overseeing day-to-day operations, performance and service delivery.
• Working closely with Customs and Trade Compliance to ensure shipments meet IATA, Dangerous Goods and international regulatory requirements.
• Leading, motivating and developing the airfreight team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Managing costs, budgets and profitability while negotiating competitive rates and service agreements with carriers and suppliers.
• Monitoring market developments and identifying opportunities to expand the airfreight proposition and introduce additional supply chain solutions.

What you'll bring ...

• Proven experience within airfreight operations or management, supported by strong international freight forwarding knowledge.
• Current IATA certification and valid Dangerous Goods certification.
• A demonstrable track record of business development, customer relationship management and commercial growth.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the confidence to establish processes and lead a developing function.
• Good commercial awareness, including an understanding of costs, pricing and profitability.
• Knowledge of customs, trade compliance or multimodal logistics would be advantageous.
