Accounts Assistant
- Location: Belfast City Centre
- Contract: Full-time | Permanent | Office-based
- Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum
Reed Accountancy is delighted to represent a reputable and dynamic company in Belfast City Centre who are seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their energetic team, supporting their accountancy function.

Day-to-day of the role:
- Monitor and reconcile client and office bank accounts, ensuring all incoming payments are accurately recorded.
- Process client and office receipts and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients and third parties, ensuring billing accuracy and compliance with procedures.
- Maintain purchase ledger records by accurately posting supplier invoices onto the accounting system.
- Review, approve and process employee expense claims in line with company policies.
- Respond efficiently to finance-related queries from colleagues and suppliers, providing excellent customer service.
- Draft professional correspondence independently and with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial and numerical data.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end periods.
- Produce accurate financial documents, reports and supporting information with confidence and professionalism.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accounting Technician would be preferable
- Strong academic background in Maths and English is essential
- 2 years’ experience within a Finance department.
- Proficiency in Finance software packages and online business banking.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Confidence in communicating at senior levels and liaising with both internal and external parties.
- Familiarity with VAT, Accounts Regulations, and reporting and investigating queries is beneficial.
