Accounts Assistant
- Location: Belfast City Centre
- Contract: Part-time (20-25 hours) across 5-days | Permanent | Office-based
- Salary: £14.50 - £16.00 an hour (dependent on experience)
Reed Accountancy is proud to represent an established and reputable company in Belfast City Centre who are seeking a motivated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team, supporting their accountancy function.
This is a perfect opportunity for an Accounts Assistant seeking part-time hours across 5-days within a supportive working environment. You will be responsible for supporting daily financial operations, including banking, payments, invoicing, and ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Monitor bank accounts, record incoming funds, and reconcile daily transactions.
- Process lodgements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Investigate and resolve banking discrepancies as required.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and posting.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding queries.
- Prepare and process supplier payments in line with agreed terms.
- Manage supplier accounts and online payment platforms.
- Verify and process payments in accordance with company policies and controls.
- Ensure all authorised transactions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Assist with invoice processing and the allocation of receipts.
- Maintain accurate sales and client ledger accounts.
- Respond to account queries and support timely resolution of outstanding issues.
- Monitor work in progress and process approved adjustments where necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year’s previous experience in a dedicated finance/book-keeping role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
