Connections Agent (Planning Engineer)

We are currently seeking a Connections Agent to work in our clients new department within a well known top 100 company in Belfast. This is a new department with great potential and progression available to the right candidates.

Connections Agent Role:

The Connections Estimating and Sales agent is focused on securing new business in Connections for new and increased supplies, excluding those deemed as Major Projects, and for customer alterations. You will be responsible for maximising income through the compliant and consistent application of the companies chargeability rules and minimising re-design costs.
You will also be responsible for the proactive and effective management of customer expectations, compliance to service standards and response to customer issues.

Connections Agent Duties:

We cannot list everything the role entails as it is varied, and adapts to the needs of the business, our customers, and the industry. However, key tasks and challenges you are likely to encounter include:

Approach your work with a focus on creating a compliant yet seamless process for the customer
Contribute to a culture of sharing information and knowledge where there is a focus on preparing quotations or solving issues as a team with a “can-do” attitude and removing barriers to success
Maintain accurate information relating to projects and specific jobs
Main point of contact for the provision of quotes to key customers while helping to develop the Quotation team’s competence and confidence
Assist in the strategic plans on how to improve the Quotation team’s capability, and ability to adapt to changing demands and needs of our key customers in the sector
Understand our customer needs and prioritise tasks to deliver estimating duties to meet peaks and troughs in line with business needs across the various market segments
Manage customer requests for new supply, alterations to existing supplies and generation connections
Provide support to local depot construction and operational staff in dealing with complaints and other system reinforcement type work
Provide technical support to colleagues in relation to the delivery of the Local Network Investment Plan
Ensure applications are quoted within a reasonable time frame, and to a high level of commercial accuracy
Manage customer standards and other customer related issues
Work with colleagues and other internal teams to deliver a high quality service to customers every time and resolve conflicts quickly and efficiently

Connections Agent Skills:

Proven substantial experience and track record operating within a similar environment demonstrating your ability to meet the demands of this role
Proven extensive customer-facing experience with developers, contractors, consultants
Sound working knowledge of current chargeability guidelines and the ability to apply these guidelines in support of business objectives.
Good working knowledge of design issues associated with electrical networks
Demonstrate the ability to be able to positively influence safety behaviours and establish a safety value.
Sound understanding of safe working practices and relevant legislation.
Current UK driving license and access to a vehicle


A third level qualification in Electrical Engineering

Salary will be between £42k – £50k depending on experience and will also include attractive company benefits.
